Cot1198. - I'd called nram to ask why they keep calling and texting about unsecured loan arrears. I said that as its is unenforcable no action can be taken on arrears until it is resolved (says so in cca)so she tried to pass me to the right team, she told them what I said and they didn't want to talk to me, haha! It's all recorded!so she then said that the redress should cover arrears, eh! We have been told it won't, then asked again to speak with the team again on hold for ten min, she confirmed they would rather wait until we have word on our redress, so effectively meaning i am right! Can't believe they refused to speak to me, she then said they said,(all this info relayed back and forth) if you pay your two month arrears you'll get it back anyway!! So they clearly don't really know what going on themselves!! Makes you wonder eh?

This is not coming from the tax payers money this money is there, in fact it has been deferred for 4 years and I know this for a fact, the money essentially is being written off so people who think its coming straight from the tax payer need to know the facts!

Its money that is being written off by a state owned bank so of course its coming from the tax payer eventually.

    Hi,

I have spoken to NRAM this morning just to see if any redress had been added to my account which as yet has not although i was told it should be this week.

What the girl i spoke to pointed out though is that the arrears showing on my account at the moment will be settled first bringing the account up to date and the rest allocated to the unsecured loan.

    Sounds good to me.

So you actually want to make this country slide further into recession, that NRAM should effectively pay out all that cash for your quick buck? That other public services should be cut back as a result? Think about it! This is all the same compensation culture gone mad attitude that will eventually send this country down the pan, just so long as you're alright jack! What about your family, children, friends.......

Tracy7 Can I firstly say I find a couple of your post quite offensive.

That said I will try and address some of your points.

    1. No I do not want the country to slide further into recession. I would be mad to do so as I am already on a four day week.

    2. NRAM need to pay this money by law, it is just a question of how. I think someone posted before saying NRAM are just putting off the debt, but the debt is still there if they pay it now or in 15 - 20 years.

    3. Public sector cuts are made by political decisions out of our hands. If you are unhappy with the state of public services take it up with your MP. Please don't try and put people off asking questions of NRAM by making them feel it is their fault public services are underfunded.

4.Please do not suggest I am selfish in doing this. I want a better deal for myself, sure. But it really gets to me when a big company public or private try and tell people what is going to happen and expect them to roll over and not ask questions of them. I am doing this for myself. my family, my friends and anyone who feels that questions need to be asked of NRAM.

I do understand where you are coming from as I think you posted you work in the NHS. Working in the NHS you will be in the front line in the fight against public sector cuts. If you are in a union within the NHS your union would fight your corner if they felt you had been treated unfairly. Please do not try to put people off who do not have the luxury of highly funded body to look out for their interests and rights.

    Thanks for this PAUL67

I thought that NRAM was just taking the redress off the balance.
    Not off any arrears.

I've gave them 7 weeks as my first email was a week ago, fos told me to do that. I have also stated that statutory interest should also be added. Thought I'd make sure that was covered as a lot of people have asked about that too!!

The state has bailed out nram meaning it is a loan, the government will get it back eventually.

Re: "Around 152,000 Northern Rock customers will get an average £1,775 compensation due to a paperwork error..."

Just wanted to start a new thread for all ex-NRAM customers to update when they hear anything about their redress. I had my first letter a few weeks back after informing them of an old, closed, account and change of address. Still waiting to hear if I am liable, and if so, what it'll be and when.

Just had a look on the NRAM web page about CCA loans.
Nothing about taking redress off arrears, still balance only.
I do feel sorry for the people answering the phones. I don't think they know quite what is going off at the moment.
