    Just updating.

Yesterday I had a major problem with the chromebook. The screen froze on an MSE forum page and nothing I did would release it. I phoned Amazon customer services who were great and assured me that I could return it, but suggested that I contact Samsung Support first (03307267864).

The chap who answered the phone was very on the ball.

Told me to press and hold the on-off button (done that, no response)

Then asked if the charging lead was plugged into the chromebook (yes) told me to disconnect it and try again.... Bingo! I was up and running again in a few minutes :-)

I bought a Samsung Chrome book from John Lewis and received it this week. I was really pleased to be able to read the OP's opinions on it, albeit after I bought it.

So far I am pleased with it, it does what it says, I am not that adventurous and my needs are modest, just emails, browsing the net etc. I have a "proper" laptop and a Samsung Galaxy 3 phone so this new one is just because, really. My other half uses the laptop a lot and I find typing on the phone keyboard very frustrating. I did consider a tablet, ipad thingy but liked the idea of having a proper keyboard.

I haven't quite got the hang of everything. I know about apps and have them on my phone but have yet to really appreciate why they are any better than just saving something, e.g. Rightmove, as a favourite. But that's just me, I am retired and don't really need anything complicated. The only thing puzzling me at the moment is that I am not sure about selling items on ebay using the chrome book as haven't a clue about photo storage on it. I have mastered selling on my phone, I take the photo and it is a simple matter of uploading the photo for the sale. So that is what I will probably continue to do.

Possibly not a good idea to store too many photos on this thing anyway although I do know a little bit about clouds.

I am a happy bunny anyway, for the moment.
