Redundancy... confused?!?!

Hi..

Apologies as this may have been brought up before... but i just want to ask a question before i get stuck on hold with ACAS to find out where i stand...

I was an Administration Assistant/Purchase Ledger clerk for a small Air Conditioning company for just under 3 years. I was made redundant in November last year along with 2 others.
2 of us were made fully redundant with reasons due to low turn over and just having to tighten belts with money etc.. 1 was allowed to work 2 days a week (semi retired).

I have since found out that they now have a 'me' replacement. Taken on to cover admin roles pretty much exactly what i was doing. Unsure as to the date/time as to when she was employed but none the less, been employed.

Has he cleverly waited for a certain time scale before employing somebody?
The redundancy hit me hard, as it does most people, single mum of 1 over the christmas period, which was tough, im not looking for sympathy just wondered if i had any rights as i've been told there's a 2 year window but i think differently.

Any help is most appreciated as this can all get very murky...

Thanks
Gem xx

Easy - you have no claim so yes, you can be replaced with impunity. You were made redundant over a year ago - the deadline for tribunal claims is three months less a day. It is very exceptional for this to be extended, and not to more than a year later.
