  • If she's got 2 kids she is not living on £70 a week. What about child benefit, tax credits, council tax benefit and housing benefits.

    The people on benefits who are worst off are the child free working age adults who have to pay a mortgage out of JSA.

    My council tax is £140 a month.

    Some others are in negative equity plus traditionally they save a lot on benefits as smi is cheaper than hb. Also to note there is no sliding scale for low income earners if not on jsa etc. smi isn't like hb and paid in part due to income.
