help! my tumble dryer is making my clothes stink!!

Hi all,

Need a bit of help! I have an 8kg washer/dryer machine, about 5 yrs old or so. Never had any probs until recently - hubby gave it a clean with vinegar and a service wash.

Not sure if it is linked but ever since then ANYTHING that is tumble dried absolutely stinks. I can't place the smell, its a bit like hot rubber or plastic maybe?

Clothes smell lovely when washed, its only when they are tumble dried that they smell. They smell immediately after drying and the smell stays until they are next washed.

Cleaned the filter but it made no difference?

Not overloading the dryer, the problem occurs whether I wash loads or just a towel. I've probably done over 20 washes since it was cleaned, prob more and the problem remains!

Any advice? Its driving me mad!!

So is the smell evident if you stick your head in the dryer - not when it's in use, obviously!

Yep it smells when it is empty and not on, although only after the dryier has been on. When I take a wet load out it smells fine, maybe a hint of smell in the machine but not on clothes
