HI i've got banking records going back to 1981 thro' till now and from 1981 till 1991 i was charged £12.700 in various charges from bounced cheque to interest on loans or overdraft you name it they charged it.
anyway what i need to know is if i can still reclaim some or all of these by going thro' your hardship claim system as these charges led me into sequestration for 3 years from '92 till '95. And will the bank be willing to go back this far?
thanks

Hardship applies to your current position. Not your historical position.

i would take it you have never been in the position of being sequestrated and the aftermath that goes with it , i will spare you the in' s and outs but it takes an awful long time to recover if you ever do, but having good family helps , your reply does not help me but maybe you get something out of it

Dunstonh's reply is stating facts, financial hardship claims are dealt with for the position you are in now, not what your situation was years ago. Your reply was very rude to someone who is giving you advice.

Just because it isnt what you want to hear, doesnt give you the right to be rude.

Next time, just go on banging your head against a brick wall and do it your way and still get nowhere.

sorry been out all day. I am trully sorry if I have offended anyone but feel very frustrated with my current situation which is a direct result of how i was treated by my bank. I should not have taken this out on anyone offering advice but every bit of advice i seem to be getting is very much the same..... a big no! thanks for any responses - any advice is much appreciated!

It's nice that you apologised. Not many people would come back and do that.

The advice you are getting will all be the same, you've left it far too long to do anything about it now. Look at it from the banks point of view, you incurred fees for 10 years, there must have been plenty of opportunity for you to make a complaint during this time. If you'd gone to your bank with a hardship claim when the fees first started to become an issue, they might have been able to help you.
