MSE News: 'Irresponsible' Asda pushes costly credit card cash for Christmas

Why are people so keen to blame the card issuers/stores etc. Of course these people want you to withdraw cash they are in the business of making money.
People need to be responsible for themselves, take ownership of their actions and stop looking for someone else to blame when they have problems.
Surely there can't be anyone out there who doesn't know it costs to borrow money from credit cards (or any other source for that matter). Nothing comes for free in this world.
I have an Asda card and I got the card suggesting I got some extra money from an ATM. I didn't even bother to entertain the idea, it went straight in the bin.
USE SOME COMMON SENSE & DON'T LIVE BEYOND YOUR MEANS.
If that means a frugal Xmas then so be it. Stop being sucked in by the commercialism of the season and remember the true spirit of Xmas.
So sick of people bleating they can't afford this or that when they spend obscene amounts that they really don't need to.
And as for people who borrow to pay for Xmas....... Plain stupid & deserve everything they get as a consequence of their actions. :mad:0 -

simple to do and legal.
Wife and I, 1 trolley each, £50 of goods in each trolley, 2 £100 reloadable ASDA cards to pay for each trolley.
The reloadable cards cost £95 for £100 spending power.
Each trolley over £40 gets a £5 discount off next shop.
If you paid more than you would have at (Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury or Waitrose you will get the difference back.
All you have to do is enter the barcode from the original till receipt into the ASDA website and print off the vouchers.
We use our own different email addresses when applying
If you see a receipt lying in the bottom of the trolley (not yours) your using put it in your pocket and register that also, it may be worth it, you can use other ID if you feel you are being dishonest. It all a bit of a hassle but a challenge to.
Where's the scam???? :rotfl:
You're just using common sense and being sensible!0 -

If Asda (or other retailers who have similar schemes) were that concerned they'd insist on seeing the same card used in the original transaction. Obviously there may be some cash receipts floating about but it would reduce 'fraud'.
I imagine they're quite happy as most people probably spend in excess of the voucher value thus adding to their profits long term.0
