Probably by left-clicking on the word? It should bring up some options to ignore. I'm not sure why that would happen if the words are spelled correctly
Maybe you have to add the words to your dictionary - so go to spell check and press 'add'. Hope this helps! 0 -
What colour is the underline?
Misspelled words are usually underlined in RED.
Bad Grammar is usually underlined in GREEN.0 -
Check that your language settings are set to UK English dictionary (Microsoft defaults to the US English dictionary). It will highlight certain words that the Americans spell differently, i.e. colour (color).0

It does sound like the grammar check is on. If you go to file/options/proofing (on the later versions of word) untick "Mark grammar errors as you type" and "Check grammar with spelling".
This is provided you have good grammar like what I have got.0 -

Possibly something to do with 'styles' if it is giving different sizes when you type e.g. Chapter heading, bullet points, sub-heading, etc. Use right click and look at format / styles to amend (I think).
Alternatively, it could be that the way you're navigating around the document brings the 'default font' back into use. The default can be amended though I can't remember how, sorry.
Hope that at least half helps!
All the best,
