Co-Op Energy - Pioneer
Hi,
I am currently on Websaver 13 with british gas and this tariff expires on 31st December 2012, when i will then be switched to their standard tariff.
I have used a comparison cashback site to check other deals and seem to have found a good deal on pioneer tariff with co-op energy?
I was just wondering if anybody else is a customer and what they think of them. Do they often increase pruices (This tariff isnt fixed) are they generally pretty good. Im unsure whether to go wit hthem or just bite the bullet and fix with one of the other big 6?
HELP!!

I've used them for the past two years, their customer service has been much better than the other companies I have used including the big six companies.
They are price competitive not always the cheapest but since I've been with them their price rises have only been modest they're actually reducing their electricity price in December I believe and they usually workout quite cheap.
You can probably save by tariff hopping but I don't mind paying that little bit more, having good cs, flat rate charges and no cancellation charge if I do decide to leave0 -
I would second Oldskoo's comments.
Worth noting as stated that they will be reducing their standard electricity tarriff by 2% fron 21st December. http://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/2012/11/16/co-operative-energy-goes-against-the-trend-and-reduces-its-prices-this-winter/
I wouldn't think that they can stick their head's too far above the water and I would hazzard an uninformed guess that increases may start happening around February.
Interestingly, whenever I get those monthly "come back to us" calls from BG, the mention of Co-op Energy as my current supplier results in a "Ah, OK, Have a nice day Bubbles" response."It's nice to be important but more important to be nice"

Also worth noting that this is just a reversal of a price increase they implemented in the summer that was not justified

What's your annual usage in kWh, and what is your supply region (or first part of your post code)?
People can then give you a good, informed opinion0 -
I'm a Co-Op customer and I'm not getting the price reduction on 21/12 because they feel they need to reward customers who joined after me. Mixed feelings about that, TBH.
However, there is a guarantee of no increases until at least April 2013 and I like the mutuality aspects of the Co-Op movement.I am a mortgage broker. I switched to them today funnily enough as well.
They came up top on the uswitch search I had put off doing for ages.
Finally got all my old bills together to work out energy used and bills. We were with Southern Power (who I only switched to about 18 months ago when we moved in.)
We have a 4 bedroom detached (with 3 kids) and it worked out at £1090 a year with Coop v £1350 with Southern.
I was surpised it was that much but to be honest feel the biggest difference will be the LED bulbs, the blackout curtains in each room, the extra jumper and the 2 ft of loft insulation.0 -
another satisfied Customer also with Co-op was with southern for 6 whole years so glad i jibbed that clown company off?
3 bedroom house bills never much at home cos of work reasons still getting bills at southern for 400 a month almost (Estimates) until i contacted them to correct it every five mins then the awful autoRinging every five mins before even seeing a bill
Co op i get peace and quiet and lovely post office payment card which i pay weekly along with DD and no hassle at all
