Urgent - HELP SAVE A DOG

Please can you all sign a petition to bring back a well loved and cared for dog to his family for Christmas.

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/get-dexter-back-home-where-he-belongs.html

On 5th December Dexter was taken from his home and family by the police and seized under the Dangerous dogs act. Dexter is not a dangerous dog, he is a staffy cross and he comes from a loving family who have been left distraught without him.

He has not done anything to warrant him been taken, he has not bitten anyone or anything so why should the police be able to come into a home and take him without a valid reason? They have taken him to secret kennels and don't give any other information as to how he is. Please sign this petition to help bring Dexter home to his family where he belongs.

A solicitor has been consulted in order to retrieve the dog, and has strongly recommended a petition.

we are trying to save this dog. Could you PLEASE sign the petition to get Dexter back home where he belongs.

It would also help if as many of you as possible would share the link on facebook, twitter, other websites you are members of, or any other way you can further this cause.

Thank you from a neighbour.

  • So the police just walked into a house a took the dog without any reason and without telling the family why they were taking it? There must have been some concerns/problems or they wouldnt have taken it for nothing.

Don't be too sure. It happens quite regularly unfortunately. Probably the best known case was Lennox http://www.huffingtonpost.com/joan-k-smith/lennox-the-dog-dead_b_1693590.html

We're not allowed to judge people on looks but somehow it's okay for dogs to be judged that way

I've just signed it for you, lets hope Dexter gets home for Christmas.
  • Thanks guys for signing the petition.

Unfortunately it is true that the police can seize a dog just because of the way it looks.

Dexter is a family pet and has not been aggressive in any way.

I briefly read that story about lennox and it horrified me.

I hope your friends can get their dog back. You need to get the petition posted on DOG forums.

    GOOD LUCK.

"... the description "Staffordshire terrier cross" is frequently a euphemism for a dog such as the American Pit Bull Terrier."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staffordshire_Bull_Terrier

If you want a legal bull terrior get a pedigree staffie. One of the breed charactistics of Staffies are that they have nice temperaments and are good with children.

This may not be true of other bull terriers. If this is not a true staffie, the dog could well be a pit bull terrier or similar.

Too many children and adults have been attacked for me to have any sympathy with people who choose to own dangerous dogs (or even dogs that resemble dangerous dogs (Staffies excepted - see above)).

Signed. BSL is disgusting. So if statistics showed that more white/black people/asians (delete as necessary) attacked people than others that particular group of people should be killed ?

Ludicrous to think but that is what they are doing to the dogs !! I know many a staffie cross and I actually know 1 full bred pit bull (family dog) and they have the nature of angels !!

    DEED NOT BREED!!!
