Amazon poor service

Ordered an item from Amazon which was due to arrive by end of November. Didn't arrive. On contact was asked to wait until 8th November and then get back to them. Did this, still no parcel. They said sorry and would send out replacement for next day delivery. Got tracking details which showed parcel out to me for delivery yesterday, didn't get delivered. Contacted them last night and was told to give it 3 more days before they would do anything.

Not happy with first non-delivery but it happens. Not happy with it being on a van but not being delivered. Really not happy with their willingness to have a delivery company take on a contract to deliver next day but allow them four days to do it.

Just checked my account to show Home Delivery Network claiming to have delivered it yesterday 1 minute after it left the depot. I phone Amazon again who tell me that it is still in the depot and that they had tried to deliver yesterday but couldn't get access, which is a complete lie.

    Sadly, you've been Yodelled! There's no easy answer, just keep pushing amazon, it's their job to sort it.

    Sounds unusual. I have been using Amazon for more than ten years and I have nothing but praise for them.

    I agree with Booler, Ive always had excellent service from Amazon.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    Amazon are good when they are good but their one major failing is not taking delivery problems seriously.

    Presumably they get such a good price from yodel that yodel know they couldn't realistically go elsewhere and so Amazon's leverage on them is severely limited.

    It would explain why there is this glaring hole in their otherwise exemplary service.

    I'm really not sure it's a 'glaring hole' in their service. You can only really judge from your own personal experience and, after a lot of orders over many, many years, I've never had anything go astray or any problems with delivery.

    I always go for the free delivery option and it usually arrives before the 3-5 days they advise on the website.

    Is there some statistics somewhere that show that Amazon's delivery is problematic, not just a few isolated cases?
