Bathroom floor tiles and shower screen

Hi
We've had a quote to have the lino in our bathroom (2.24sq.m) taken up and tiles put down (we'll be buying the tiles), together with installing a new shower screen (again, which we buy).
The quote is £620 including taking the WC and sink pedastal out (in order to tile the whole floor) or £520 to do it without removing the WC and sink pedastal (i.e. cutting tiles to fit around them).
We have no frame of reference here so don't know if this is good or bad.
Can anyone give us some guidance as to whether this is a reasonable sum to pay? I understand this is tricky to ask without seeing the room etc but we just need to be sure we're not being taken for a ride.
Many thanks

Assuming its a timber floor, it will need to beaver boarded with ply fixed at 150mm centres and a flexi adhesive and grout used.
Probably 2 days and a bit todo the job, plus the cost of the plumber moving and refitting the pan etc. I normally allow for a new pan connector and to put in line valves in the basin. £620 isn't too far off the mark.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Agree with Phil here, whilst on the face of it, that may look a bit steep for a small area, there is a lot of work involved, and it sounds reasonable to me..0

Funny I've just come up with £ 520 on the back of me fag packet for the more expensive of the two options so what have I forgotten? Oh yes - primarily I haven't seen the job. Agree £ 620 sounds a good ballpark number. Forget the tile round option. What hapens when you either want a new loo or break this one? Never match it up.
