Hi,

I just tried to use the 20% off code, but it takes off ALL the discounts that apply to your basket (eg free delivery, the 10% off savings AND the multi buys).

This would have meant I'd actually have paid more for my shopping and not had any quidco back.

May be worth checking before going through to purchase.

Last day free delivery I got 9 plates (3 for 2) + 2 tea towels (2 for £2) for £8 total

I placed an order on December 2nd and received two separate parcels on December 6th but when I got through the miles of bubble wrap I found that some plates I had ordered were missing.

When I went to the website and tracked the order I found that the third parcel had been damaged and returned to sender.

I e-mailed Matalan to ask if they would send replacements and have just had this reply from them...............
I am sorry to hear that your two items have been returned to sender due to being damaged, due to system parameters we unable to resend any items. Once we have received these items back we will make arrangements to have the cost of the items refunded back to your payment card today. Your card should be re-credited within an average 3 - 5 working days. If you still require these items you will need to reorder them online.

Good job I asked or I'd have been waiting forever. On the bright side , there is now 10% off them.

If they treat this as a cancellation, even a partial cancellation due to them sending out your order separately in parts (and it is really a cancellation on your part, by means of non-receipt of goods), they must refund you; they can't await the return of the goods first. Let's face it, who is to say that they will ever get the goods back. It's not in your hands... those plates were literally never in your hands! You aren't returning them and the issue is between them and the courier, not with you. Simply, as a customer, you have not received goods, and you want your money back as per the law which is there to protect your interests.

It's alarming just how many reputable companies seem to be twisting the Distance Selling Regs to suit themselves at the moment...
