I have completed an ipoq a few weeks ago and recently received a letter from the OR informing me they are applying to the secretary of state for release as my trustee. I am hoping this is a good sign that I will be discharged early.

  • Its a good sign means the OR's nearly done with your case....IPA or not might be an early discharge BUT no guarantee sadly

  • sounds good news... just picked up something, what is an IPOQ? Is this the questionnaire I was told I might get towards the end of my bankruptcy by a recent I.S. examiner?

I've been trying to find out what such a thing asks, that is all.

Thanks and hoping this sounds like good news for you :)

Yep!It's a new SoA for you to send back to them, it's just a chance for the OR to check on your circumstances and see if anything has changed since you last filled in a SoA and if they can put an IPA/O in place before discharge.

An ipoq is an income payment order questionaire. It basically asks about your income and expenses to determine if you have surplus income which can be paid towards your debt via an IPA or IPO.

    Yes.

I had ED go through about 7 months after receiving that letter.

if they are to do an I&E review (IPOQ) beforehand they will normally write and tell you. Plus when the ED paperwork is sent to the court and back you would receive a sealed copy of the notice.

However, have certainly seen examples where no I&E review was done and the EDNOT was late in forthcoming, meaning someone found themselves discharged on the online register before they were informed any other way.

So does no harm to check, unlikely as it may be.
