Admiral multicar insurance

Options
We're with Admiral multicar for two cars. The first car has been on the multicar policy for the full year, the other was only added on to the insurance policy three months ago. This is because that was the renewal date for single car insurance with Admiral for that car and that seemed the easiest way to arrange the multicar insurance policy. The first car only got the discount because the second car was pending on the policy for the first 9 months. Hope that makes sense!!

What I would like to know, if anyone can help, is can I cancel this insurance policy at renewal for the first year even though the second car has only been on the policy for three months? Will there be any charges with this? The website isnt very helpful and I didn't want to call a premium number if I could help it!!

Thank you.

What was the premium paid? If it was reduced to reflect the time remaining, this would mean a concurrent renewal for all vehicles on the policy.

The first car paid the full amount and the second car had paid a pro rata amount to reflect the time on the policy. But the first car received a £200 discount for having the second car join the policy within the year. We wouldn't cancel until the renewal date after a year which I'm not sure they can charge you for if its like normal insurance policies? I just wasn't sure if both cars had to be on the policy for a full year before you can cancel at renewal.

This is the number I always used to call when I needed to speak to someone at Admiral, 0800 600 800. I last called it in early November and it worked ok then.

  • Shelly's right. I use "say no to 0870" website and have found a free phone number that works, probably the same one. They're very helpful on the phone.
