  • I went through our drinks cupboard a couple of weeks ago to find what, if anything we need to buy for this years festivities (whiskey and Bacardi, if you want to know:rotfl:). Found an opened bottle of Baileys from last year. Ended up have a glass or 2 that night and I didn't notice any difference in taste etc. Our drinks cabinet has no glass so anything in there is stored in the dark, but it is at room temperature.
  • I've forgotten some of my 'safe' places...... hmm....need to get searching (secretly!) and check they're still happy and eager to please :D
  • just got 3 1 liter bottles of mint, best before 11 dec 12, £4 each from asda, happy boy.... that date wont put me off... sure they will be gone over xmas anyway

I guess taste it and see. I have one in the fridge that was opened months ago and I am going to test it and see if it is drinkable.

I tested it - it is fine. I might test it again in a minute. lol

(It said use within 3 months on the bottle. It has been open WAY longer than that! So that was cobblers wasn't it?)
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Yes that was another reason why I was concerned it might not have been ok but I've tasted it and its fine, tastes the same as when I first opened it a few months ago.

I think it keeps due to 2 reasons - its in a very dark brown glass bottle and people keep it in a dark place.

If it was in a clear glass bottle and people stored it on a window sill in a very sunny position, it will go off pretty quickly!

you're right and as for those clear glasses that we serve them in  .....always best to be on the safe side with baileys - drink rapidly and regularly :beer:

    Happy Christmas :xmassmile
