Hi,
My car was hit by someone last week when it was parked. He left his insurance details but the insurance people have said the car is a write-off. They have valued the car to 300 pounds only.
The car model is Peugeout 206, 2001 reg - the car had been written-off previously - that is before i had bought it.
Now, I don't have a car and I really need a car to get to work.
Any advice will be much appreciated as I really dont know what i should do? Thank you.

What condition was the car in before the accident?
Service history? Receipts for work done recently?
You need to show them the cars worth more than £300. Is it not driveable?
What damage?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

myn sold for 700 at auction for a 2001 51 reg one back in 2008, yours is also a previous write off so would be half that.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

If its been written off, you have three options. Buy a new car now and wait for the insurance cash or wait for the cash then buy a car. Third option is buy salvage off the insurance company and repair it.I'm retiring at 55. You can but dream.0

get the at fault insurer to give you a hire car, if they demur mention credit hire as you need one for work and can't afford to pay for a hire car
The money they give you should be enough for you to go out and buy a replacement from a dealer. The fact that yours has previously been a write off doesn't help but on a 11 year old small car the effect is going to be minimal, cars like that tend to sell on condition more than history. Have a look on autotrader for dealer prices and send them to the insurer.0
