Does Twitter auto update?

I've just opened a Twitter account for the first time. I opened it because clues get posted there for a competition.

New Tweets don't automatically appear though. I get a 'new tweet' message on the tab which I click on to see the tweet.

This has just happened again a minute ago so I clicked on the new tweet message only to find out the tweet had actually happened over 15 minutes ago.

Is there a way to just see the tweet as it happens instead of getting the new tweet message first?

Hi,

The twitter site does not auto update but you will see a "tweets posted" appear at the top. There are a few apps that can auto update such ad tweetdeck.

The best bet is to google it and see what people do for comps etc. I hope that helps a little.
