Parental control on laptop / tablet

Hi
We were thinking about buying DS aged 13 a tablet for christmas. We have recently had to ban / monitor his use of a laptop due to him looking up some !!!!!! sites. I don't seem to be able to put parental controls onto the laptop and so am concerned that if he has a tablet - or a PSP Vita which is another option - we will have little ability to monitor. This also goes for if we were to get him a smart phone.
Has anyone advice as to what we can do? If the answer is nothing then he will have to go without!
Thanks in advance.

K9 Web Protection for PC is pretty good and they now have an Android and iOS version, don't know what they are like.
I then chose to buy a router with built-in filtering capabilities so I only had to administer one device rather than multiple laptops, phones etc. The filtering licence for mine costs £40/year, some routers come with free filtering.0 -

Yes, I agree with so too. You just need a to block the apps or games and monitor his mobile use, like Mobile Nanny.0
