Hi ,
About a week ago I applied to change my energy provider from Scottish Power to E.on dual fuel which it stated that I would save about £47 pear year on my prepayment meter . It has just been announced that E.on are increasing there prices as from next month, should I cancel the deal as I get a cooling off period.
Many Thanks

Infact, even better, you could have saved £47 per year switching your gas to ebico and another £39 per year switching you electric to utilita (or £36 to British Gas)
What made you decide to switch to Eon for a saving of just £47 per year in total?0 -
That was the best deal for me at the time and that was on a couple of price comparison websites,
which price comparison site where them deals on.
thanks0 -

They should all have the same info. I used energyhelpline, but you can choose any mentioned in this article.

Let me know of any in that article that give you different results.0 -
Thanks for that information , I'll be giving them a call - wonder why them offers on Moneysupermarket and go compare never shown them deals0

Doing a dual fuel search on Moneysupermarket.com indeed shows Ebico as the cheapest dual fuel option saving £63.73 per year
Did you ensure you searched all suppliers and not just the ones MSM will switch you to?
I didn't do sinngle supplier switch search as it requires a separate search, but I am sure it would come up with the same results.
Gocompare is not mentioned in the MSE article, but appears to use the energylinx for comparisons.
I checked Energylinx for dual fuel and sure enough, Ebico are shown as the best dual fuel deal for you with a similar annual saving of £63.73
Again, ensure you select all supplier options, not just the ones energylinx get paid to switch you to.0 -

did you sign up to the fixed rate Eon tariff or variable. think Eon give a 14 day cooling off period from when you sign up with them0 -
If you want to save money then get rid of the prepayment meter. If you want to cancel your switch ( advisable ) you need to do so within seven days of agreeing the contract. Some companies extend the seven days to 14 of their own volition. Prepayment meters are very difficult to advise since savings depend on when you use your fuel. If you are serious about saving on energy, it will take some time and trouble to calculate everything. If a man does not keep pace with his companions, then perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away. thoreau0

Care to explain more, please? I've never heard of that .
I had no difficulty in getting a comparison.
MSE Martin has even written an article I linked to to explain how to get a good deal on a PPM meter.0
