Drive assist - what's going on?

They cannot drag their heels as it would mean they couldn't justify each day = no reimbursement. CPIP would be claimed on way to much and we would lose the company who supply that policy.0

Firstly I was told drive assist would send me the cheque direct
Second time I called I was told that person was rong and the cheque would com from other party each time I asked what they next step was I got different storey, only one person there t trusted to talk to in the end why apologised for all the mix up and she was called Amy in the ongoing hire team the rest I dealt with just got it rong then said oh your with Esure sorry yes we pay, should have checked before giving the rong info
As I said Amy was the only one I trusted hope she is ok0 -

"Gram", I think that you will find far too many horror stories out there for it to be a fabrication.
My comment may have been somewhat mistargeted, I don't know who stands to make the most from the over priced courtesy cars and I don't know who pulls the strings, I don't know why the repair costs are 3-4x what it'd cost to have done privately (to manipulate figures and justify massive premiums perhaps??).
Having had some recent dealings, I only know that the insurance industry cannot be trusted, they'll always play things out in the most profitable way they can. Fair and right don't factor into it and they'll drag their heels if it suits. We all have to have insurance, we're a captive market, why treat us like customers, when they can simply treat us like cattle?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I can't comment about how you've been treated as I don't know who dealt with you, what team or what it was over Ect. What I can say is we are not trained to lie or mislead. We are there to assist. If you've had bad experiences that's really unfortunate, but it's not offices full of con artists. I'm a kind caring mother and I would never do such a thing.

The company DID up until today obviously adhere to the general terms of agreement which is a set of rules set out by the association of British insurers which states how much we and all other credit hire companies can charge for our vehicles. Each type of vehich 1.1 , 1.6 , 2.2 4x4 have their own price. £180 per day is roughly what we would charge for a van or a 4x4 2.2. May I also add that those type of vehicles would only be supplied if we could justify ( mitigation process is also discussed with the clients ) the clients need for one e.g lived on a farm and therefore a ford ka would not drive through those conditions Ect. A general vehicle such as a 1.4 would be hired out at 1/3rd of the price youv given. Finally drive assist do not supply courtesy vehicles. They are given to you free of charge from a repairing garage as part of your insurance policy if your making a claim. Some incidents are non fault incidents and therefore Ph don't want to make a claim on their own policy as they affect their own insurance and have to pay their excess. Tpi don't tend to give settlements out easy which is where drive assist come in. They deal with your claim to get liability and your vehicle repaired, drive assist foot the bill and invoice tpi. As you are no claiming on your policy you will not be entitled to a courtesy car so drive assist supply you with a hire car. This is supplied to you on a credit basis which means if we cannot recover costs through tpi the hirer is ultimately liable. However as a company they will not give a hire car out or do the repairs to ur car if they thought there would be a great risk of not getting the costs back. Da also offer a policy called CPIP which is a one off payment of £10-£15 ( dependent in the car supplied ) which covers the cost of the hire if they cannot be recovered through tpi. Whilst I understand someone people can have bad experiences, I also see people complaining when they have very little knowledge.
Firstly I think it's awful how all you guys at DA have an uncertain future due to the mess ups from your management and I agree that by no means do any of you deliberately set out to 'con' your customers.
However, on the other end of the scale I am so pleased that the insurance industry and people are starting to take note how these 'third party' companies are just simply not required and that they DO in fact inflate the cost of insurance.
You state that DA subscribe to GTA rates set by the ABI, now tell me those insurers that themselves do not subscribe to the GTA what rates are you charging? I can assure you that they are a lot higher that the GTA rate. I have dealt with drive assist for a while now and yes they do put policyholders in hire when it's not necessary for e.g their car is still driveable and yes they do delay repairs via their own repair network and for what purpose.... to maximise their profit at the expense of the insurer.
You also mention that DA is some sort of saving grace for policyholders that do not want to claim via their policy. Well here is a thought why don't you just let the third party insurer deal with the intervention and allow them to manage the whole claim. This is what annoys me about credit hire companies they think they provide something new and unique when in fact they have just jumped onto a service that has been provided by insurers for years but have just inflated the costs for their own gain.
I really am sorry about all the staff but it's always best to work for the insurer and not against them. Stay away from Accident Management Companies, Solicitors and Credit Hire0 -
Lets see what today has in store
You think your doing the right thing by following the advice from your insurance, the way they sell you it is so easy 1 get 100% of your claim no excess to pay, 2 you don't lose your no claim bounes
That sells it for you who in this day can lose there excess mine is £350
Boy do I now know better0 -
Whilst it is unfortunate for anyone caught up in Drive (un)Assist administration trouble, the news they have gone has made my day.
Esure tried to get me to use them I avoided them like the plague.
I went through the other persons insurance, free hire car, no excess to pay and I used my own repairer.Doesn't it depend on who instructed them? (The insurer may be unaware their insured is dealing with DA)
I think you will find Esure did not instruct them as they get DA to phone the customer to agree to use them.Signature removed club member No1.
It had no link, It was not to long and I have no idea why.0 -
Esure phone them and pass it to them so yes Esure instructed them
I've been told buy Esure all claims will be returned to them once it confirmed there in administration0 -

My cheque bounced on Friday should they have still been paying out then? Administrators didn't go in till yesterday
Should have a mask and cape0
