Drive assist - what's going on?

    The cheque they sent me bounced I'm 2k out of pocket at the mo
    My bank told me all there cheques have been stopped
    When I phoned Esure they told me at 6pm there not aware of this

    I think they all tell lies

    If you're asked to return the hire car without your vehicle being handed to you in return, I would refuse or ask your insurer to provide an alternative hire car at their cost until your own vehicle has been returned to you.

    Doesn't it depend on who instructed them? (The insurer may be unaware their insured is dealing with DA)

    I'd be sending the hire car back, because its on a credit hire agreement the person who signed is responsible for the inflated daily hire charge.

    If you have a drive assist owned car ( drive assist will be written on tax disc holder ) be careful. U will only be insured until midnight tonight. This is what they have told staff who have company cars anyway. If you opted for you own insurance, you will still be insured. Drive Assist staff were not informed of going into administration until approx 5pm today until then staff were only fold there was a " glitch " with the bank. If a repairer has your vehicle and won't release it you need go find out whether it was the underwriters or ur broker who referred you to them. It's pretty pointless trying to speak to Drive Assist as the process at the minute will not be clear. Your quickest way out is to get your own insurers to pay the repair bill ( this may mean you have to pay your excess however they may waiver that for you as it's beyond your control ) they will then pick up the claim from Drive Assist once your file has been handed over, and your insurers will then look to recover from tpi. Failing this, contact tpi yourself and see if they accept liability if so request they pay the repair bill.

    Even before all this I wish I never had taken esure's advice and use them
    They lie so much and tell you different things each time you call then
    One rep would say A other would say B no one seems to no what they are doing

    Drive assist make £180+ a day from you having that courtesy car, it's in their interest to drag their heels..... Even if the insurance refuse to pay for the courtesy car because the bill is too big (happens a lot) they'll then come after you to pay the bill.

    Look it up on the web if you need proof.

    I can't comment about how you've been treated as I don't know who dealt with you, what team or what it was over Ect. What I can say is we are not trained to lie or mislead. We are there to assist. If you've had bad experiences that's really unfortunate, but it's not offices full of con artists. I'm a kind caring mother and I would never do such a thing.

    The company DID up until today obviously adhere to the general terms of agreement which is a set of rules set out by the association of British insurers which states how much we and all other credit hire companies can charge for our vehicles. Each type of vehich 1.1 , 1.6 , 2.2 4x4 have their own price. £180 per day is roughly what we would charge for a van or a 4x4 2.2. May I also add that those type of vehicles would only be supplied if we could justify ( mitigation process is also discussed with the clients ) the clients need for one e.g lived on a farm and therefore a ford ka would not drive through those conditions Ect. A general vehicle such as a 1.4 would be hired out at 1/3rd of the price youv given. Finally drive assist do not supply courtesy vehicles. They are given to you free of charge from a repairing garage as part of your insurance policy if your making a claim. Some incidents are non fault incidents and therefore Ph don't want to make a claim on their own policy as they affect their own insurance and have to pay their excess. Tpi don't tend to give settlements out easy which is where drive assist come in. They deal with your claim to get liability and your vehicle repaired, drive assist foot the bill and invoice tpi. As you are no claiming on your policy you will not be entitled to a courtesy car so drive assist supply you with a hire car. This is supplied to you on a credit basis which means if we cannot recover costs through tpi the hirer is ultimately liable. However as a company they will not give a hire car out or do the repairs to ur car if they thought there would be a great risk of not getting the costs back. Da also offer a policy called CPIP which is a one off payment of £10-£15 ( dependent in the car supplied ) which covers the cost of the hire if they cannot be recovered through tpi. Whilst I understand someone people can have bad experiences, I also see people complaining when they have very little knowledge.
