Am I entitled to a redundancy payment

Have recently been informed that after 8 years with my current comoany that I'm to be made redundant from end of December. I have two months notice to work and have been given two options - either work the two months taking it to end of Feb or work for six months at reduced hours/pay - ie 12 hours per week. If I decide on the six month option would I still be entitled to redundancy pay at the end of that time. If yes would the entitlement be based on my 8 years at full pay or on the 12 hours per week payment. Also if I find another position within my notice period would I still be entitled to redundancy?

This isn't very clear. But I am not comfortable about what they are suggesting and it could be detrimental. If you are consdiering this you need to get the answers to these questions in writing from the employer - because this could mean your redundancy being reduced to the new part-time wage and losing it all if you leave earlier.0

It might be possible to structure the contractual change in hours/pay so that you would be entitled to statutory redundancy at normal pay.
Certainly possible for some types of short working/layoff, 6 month might be too long.
are they offering enhanced redundany or just statutory that may make anothe difference.
BUT that could be risky but would take the potential redundancy and some pay into he new tax year which may be benifitial if the numbers a big(40% tax payer).
Personaly I think I would go for the normal notice and redundancy since this keeps your option to counternotice(after Dec) if you find another job.
especialy if the 6month at 12hr is less than 2 months full pay.
When did you start and go ever to 9 years service that may be a consideration.0
