Exchange and complete in 48 hours?

We are buying a property which is going to empty before exchange (end of chain), we are also chain free (staying with family).
Are there any problems with completing two days after exchange? I understand that after exchange the solicitor needs to get the title checked and a search done as well as receive/distribute the money from the lender. Are there any other things that could hold this up or any risks that I should be aware of?
We and the vendor want to move as quickly as possible, and there seems no reason to delay matters once the exchange of contracts has taken place.
Thanks

i bought a house two years ago, and exchanged and completed on the same day for a speedy transaction. so you shouldn't have a problem, speak to your solicitor.0

Don't you have to get the survey done on the property, to know what you are taking on?The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket. :rolleyes:0

My understanding is that all surveys have to be complete brior to exchange, otherwise the solicitors would be tying you into buiying a property which you may not were the information be available. If that makes sense.
I generally try to exchange and complete on the same day, just for ensuring that my money stays in my account till the last second, rahter than in the solicitors account.0 -
Many Thanks all, glad to hear that some of you have done this in a couple of hours!
The survey did take place today, so fingers crossed!
From our point of view it seems pointless to wait once you have exchanged on a property and it is a simple chain free transaction. We're going to suggest to the solicitor(s) a same day exchange/completion and then take it from there !
ThanksZ
