EBay Wrong Bid Entered

Hi

I wonder if anyone can please help. I went to bid for an item just before it ended. The item was showing 99p so I entered what I thought was £2.00 but turned out to be £200  The person before me bid £15.97 and so my bid automatically went to £16.97. Is there any way I can pull out of this bid as it was a genuine mistake?

Thank you

You can ask the seller to do a mutial cancellation.

They might do that or file a non paying bidder case against you if you dont pay.

£2 for an item that sold for almost £16? :)

If it was me i would pay - and then resell it if i didn't want it.

Its not the sellers fault you can't type.

He might really need that money to buy food for his kids and pay off the angry debt collectors at the door :-)

As a seller people who change their mind always say 'it was a genuine mistake'.

Youc an ask seller to cancel, but you could easily face an NPB dispute.

I'm more inclined to do cancellations for people who make genuine mistakes - particularly those who say it immediately - as we all make them; I did this before myself and came to an amicable arrangement with the seller.

This is not an antagonistic joust and, pragmatically, I would be able to do a SCO when a cancellation was agreed, so there's no point in prolonging it with an NPB and losing the underbidder after 8 days of back-and-forth with someone who obviously made a mistake. 'Learn to type' is not something I would ever tell anyone for the sake of a pound.

It's up to the OP's seller, obviously, but if they have any sense they will offer a cancellation.
