Yes but what happens when you have had one stolen is that you will notice that the pathetic stud has been bent out of shape and the cage easily drops down.
So not only do you have the expense of replacing the wheel and tyre but probably need a new stud as well.

Many Thanks to all for info. I have had a reply from Citroen UK and to say they are hopeless is an understatement. I am now unlikely to purchase a Citroen in future.
Quote from the letter I had from Citroen "I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your spare wheel from your vehicle; it is unfortunate that a determined person may remove a spare wheel by distorting/cutting the carrier"
My carrier is not distorted or cut and people who I have spoken to in the scrap yard trade have told me it can be done very easily in less than 30 seconds!
The letter goes on to say "The locking device which is marketed by our Replacement Parts Division is an approved accessory for those who wish to benefit from greater protection" What do they mean "an accessory". This makes it sound like it is not entirely necessary, and from my experience it is most definitely necessary!!
Anyway, instead of paying £130 quoted by Citroen to replace the whole wheel/tyre and jack, I have purchased the wheel from their parts dept at £31 and had a tyre fitted locally at £42. My dad says he has a spare jack and will get that to me so although it has cost me money, not as much as I originally thought. Wheel is now in the boot!!!
Citroen also suggested that I contact my insurers!!!! I will be responding to them but only to tell them how useless they are!0
