Vodafone - refusing to correct inaccurate address on credit report

Hi,
I recently used the CreditExpert from Experian service to check my credit report and found that I had an inaccurate address listed on there by Vodafone, for a mobile phone contract that I took out earlier in the year. The details provided by Vodafone stated that I had lived at '1 Example Street, AA10BB', but the house number was incorrect.
I initially asked Experian to correct the data, but they refused stated that "Vodafone Ltd confirm the details we hold are accurate and ask that we keep the information on our database".
I then wrote to Vodafone, providing evidence of having lived at '20 Example Street, AA10BB' and stating that I had never lived at '1 Example Street' but they have written to me and refused to change the details. The reason they provided was that "1 Example Street, AA10BB was supplied as a previous address when the account was first taken out. This would have formed part of the initial credit check. We are therefore unable to remove this information". Unfortunately the postcodes match, so I can't prove that they are holding an invalid address on their records.
Is anyone able to offer any advice on how I can get this resolved? I don't want my credit score forever linked to an address I've never lived at!
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I couldn't see a more applicable board than this - hoping I got it right.

If your credit record is not tarnished, then I don't see the problem (not that it's not a problem to you)0

DUTR, whilst I see your point how would I know that my credit report has not been affected by this link?
If someone living at the other address had defaulted on a loan, wouldn't this impact my credit score?0 -
Hi ultraviolent,
Thanks for making me aware of your concerns.
If you'd like me to take a closer look at things could you email me with the relevant details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.
To ensure that it reaches us could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee
