Give me strength

I would say that the Christmas season is bringing all the newbies out of the woodwork, but this buyer is not new to eBay and buys and sells on same account.

I sold an item, it is vintage , sold as 'used' the new 'condition' box bit described the wear and the listing reminded people this was used and I described the minor wear on it.

Feedback was positive but said 'quick delivery but very disappointed this is not new'

If this hits my stars I will be very cross.

As soon as I saw this new thread title and Soolin's ID beside it, I knew it was going to be a tale relating a brain dead buyer's comments! :D

I've had more issues these past few weeks than I have had all year.

If my stars are damaged I would hope this is one that eBay will remove as a used item, sold as used with the description of the use would be difficult to mistake for a new item.

My 1 star for p&p finally came thru' this week and there is nothing i can do about it!
Feedback saying everything great except he felt "postage should be cheaper for buying more than 1 item"
I cant help the price, infact the buyer paid about £1.50 less than cost.
But what can a seller do ....NOTHING

I don't know about you but none of my are newbies either, they all have feedback and a history on eBay.

In fairness though I am selling a great deal more that I used to, I have upped my sales by about 50% As sales seem to be quite firm at the moment.

Ebay removed my low stars, so there maybe hope. They seem to do it if they spot a pattern, like a buyer giving one stars to lots of sellers.

Whats the deal with starts, I cant say as a buyer its something i really every take notice of, I just look through recent feedback comments, and of course the price.

Are there sanctions for low stars?

Yes there are lots of sanctions and small sellers can face suspension after just three or four in one category in a year. If you sell you need to make a habit of checking your expanded seller dashboard

This just proves that lots of buyers have no idea of the importance of the stars they are leaving.

If Ebay persist with the DSR system, I wish they would do a campaign to educate buyers of the importance of the stars they leave, and the possible impact upon sellers.
