Problems using 3G Dongle

I have a netbook that has an internal wireless card that I normally use at home but when I visit my mother who hasn't got any internet connection I take my 3G dongle,so far so good but the problem starts when I get back home and need to connect using the internal wireless connection again, which never works again unless I delete the dongle software. Can anyone tell me how to set it up so I don't have to do this everytime.

  • This is strange, as I often use my dongle with prepaid SIM at home, then go to the library to use their free WiFi with no problems.

What PC/browser etc. are you using?

When you use the 3G dongle, do not select the option to connect automatically.

Try setting the wireless card to connect automatically.

I use the same setup on my netbook. When out on the road I use a 3G dongle. (Plug it in, wait for netbook to detect it, select from list of available networks and click connect). When done, I simply unplug the dongle and close the lid.

At home the wireless radio automatically connects to my home wifi without me having to do anything other than open the lid of the netbook.

Sometimes you need to disable the 3G connection via Network Connections, otherwise it doesn't switch back to WiFi.
Does it still happen if you use the Connection Manager of the modem?

    Have sent you a PM.
