Hi there,
I'm an OU student at present and need a new computer - fancy an apple. They offer high discounts via their higher education store link which is only available via the uni's network (which the OU does not have!). I don't know if the OU are part of this scheme as it could save me a fortune. Anyone have any ideas?

I got a macbook pro from apple in september. It took about £140-160 off the price. Don't do it online. Ring them, tell them your a student, and thats it. They did ask me for student ID or my UCAS acceptance letter, but i didnt even send them off. ALOT of my friends have also obught computers from there, and got student discounts. Some were students, some were not. Phoning them, they also let you know of any current offers on at the moment, some are pretty good. But, beforr you do that, check the refurb story on apple.com/uk/store. Its on the right hand side near the bottom, definitely worth checking out if your after a laptop.0

I got my apple from the education store but look around. its only 6% discount or something. Amazon is often cheaper to start with and if you look in some of the apple magazines they have retailers in there who sell them even cheaper then that.
Dont forget quidco if your buying from apple.0 -
Education store 6% discount is different than the discount for higher education students which ranges between 10% and 15%. I bought the latest MacBook Pro 15" with 4GB memory instead of the standard 2GB for £1299 instead of £1499. That's around 13%.0
