Ceiling fan....any good?

I am considering buying a ceiling fan (with light) for my bedroom.
Could anyone tell me if they're any good/use or a complete waste of money?

We used to have one. It was great for those hot summer nights. Removed it to smarten up the house before we put our home up for sale.0

we have one too. they are good in the summer. they can also spin in reverse to heat the room in the winter but we dont use it in that way.0

someone bought me one a while ago and it is really handy
i think mine also looks nice as it is chrome finish and has 3x halogen bulbs in it to replace the normal light.
also have the "winter" feature which helps circulate warm air around the room more evenly - hard to tell but i think it makes things niceer sometimes.0 -
