Vouchers - Whats The Most You've Used At One Time?

Since there are a lot of us using the vouchers at Tesco and Asda. I was just wondering what's the most you've handed over at one time?

I'll start off with about 7 vouchers for £4.50 on a £33.00 shop

  • The best I have done is £10-65 off a £15-35 shop.

My advice would be not to try and push your luck too far with vouchers.

The one thing guaranteed to put a brake on acceptance is people pushing so many through the tills that the suppliers stop honouring them - to some extent this is happening at the moment, with previously quite lax shops cracking down. It's much easier for shops to say that you have to buy the item the voucher relates to than to set up some set of rules for the operators - in fact this is a relatively easy IT job if they choose to automate it - and I can see this happening.
  • The tesco lad said as many as I had - 17! But that was a rare occasion - I just shop carefully anyway and if I get a few quid knocked off thats a bonus.
  • had a young lass at asda, was very nice i said how much coupns do u take? i acted daft, she said oh i will take as many as you got, so she took £10 off a £10.19 spend, i said can i go round again and come back to you she said yep, so i did lol ;D
so i went and got 15 quid of shopping and used my remaining tenner of coupons , all of which were financial times coupons, nice even hubby was impressed
  • £299 at xmas and got it down to £83 I have the till receipt somewhere. I'd been having a try at a record with the c/out operator, he'd previously had someone get £100 for nothing, I was going to do that but people in the queue were moaning so I had to curtail it, I was using the £2 airwick and £4 veet coupons mostly.
  • WOW - I am in awe. I usually get £15 off my shop. I work out how many coupons I have and then shop to that amount. Coupons have saved me a fortune as I now say nah - I'll get that in Tescos rather than somewhere else - but then I forget when I am in there - so it as never that important in the first place!!

Most I saved in Tescos last summer was 8 x £7.50 vouchers for Sainsburys. I was looking for the correct voucher for that week as had a handful and the very helpful young boy said "I'll put them all thru". Who was I to argue. My £75 shopping bill went down to £15. He didn't seem to care and I wasn't gonna argue. Paid quickly and left very happily. Then remembered I'd thrown away 3 vouchers that were out of date - doh. He'd probably have taken them as well.
  • after weeks of agonising over this i took the bull by the horns and took some airwick vouchers to my local Tesco and they were accepted! Wow - I have been sooo nervous about using them - only a small discount, but it did halve my bill and given me more incentive for the future.

What I am unsure of is really where to find vouchers, both online and otherwise - or am I being really stupid again?
  • Just over a year ago I got £54 off a shop of £65 at Asda before they started doing the 10% max vouchers.
