mp3 with docking station

Is there an mp3 not including ipods ,that have a docking station and speakers that you can attach it too.nothing too expensive tho,or am i going to have to pay out for an ipod .Many thanks

What sort of size are you looking for?

Why does it need to dock?

Plenty of active (powered) speakers available. Either, mains, rechargeable or battery.

If you want a 'dock' ie plug it in and it will charge and give you a remote to change tracks from across the room then the iPod is the best solution, although the iPods are in a dock connector change so if you buy a new 2012 iPod you will need to either buy a dock with a Lightning connector or buy an adaptor to use old 30pin docks.

However if you just want to have an MP3 player that can play it's music through speakers and you don't mind having to go to the MP3 player to change track then any MP3 player will do, I would recommend something like the Sandisk Sansa Clip+ or the Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip of which you can pair them up to any speakers with a AUX in (even most iPod docks have an AUX in) there are loads of speakers for all budgets.

Not really, at least not a dock that has a specific slot for the Sansa Clip, but you could buy some speakers with an area that you could balance the Clip on, personally I would put better quality speakers over an area on the speakers to put the Clip and just have the player set to the side.

To connect the Sansa Clip to speakers with an AUX in port you will also need a cable like this.

Just check out the reviews on Amazon for the clip it seemms to get quite a few low ones if IIRC.

Also look at the Kubik. I use my my phone won't take more than 8GB SHDC. I am looking at Evo 8GB version with expandable memory. The clip will also take expandable memory too.
