There is a very good chance that it had been stolen prior to me purchasing it.
As I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread, I often buy phones that are stolen/recovered and unclaimed lost property.
These are bought at an auction house not too far from where I live, and they often have a fairly large selection of items such as this which they are selling off on behalf of various organisations, one of which is the local police force.
The auction house will only sell barred phones that are being sold by known and trusted sources so an ordinary "Joe Bloggs" couldn't walk in and sell off a bunch of barred mobiles.0 -
So, if you get the SIM blocked can the network provider still bar the phone's IMEI or is it another system that just passes on the IMEI to all Euro networks to prevent that particular IMEI from registering onto the network?
