I saw they were the cheapest for a game so I went and tried to order a game from them.

I put in my Barclays Premier Debit (that is registered with Verified by Visa) and they declined it saying I needed to use a 3-d secured card (I was!!) I tried by Barclaycard Onepulse (Again registered with Verified by Visa) Declined - I apprently need to use a 3-d secured card. I tried my Barclaycard Premier Visa credit. Again declined. I need to be 3-d secure registered.

I thought sack them and went to amazon and ordered it from there for £1.14 more. At least they accepted my card.

Poor service.

Might have just been an issue with the bank's connection to shopto. I've never had any problem ordering stuff in four years with them.

Well if they can't talk to banks over visa I guess they don't need my business.

I ordered more stuff off Amazon so they lost sales
  • Annoying. I tried my Natwest Black card, my Amex black centurion charge card, and my coutts world card, and wouldn't accept any of them ether.

I know Natwest love Verified by Visa (if it was legal and possible I am sure they would marry) I guess shopto.net are picky on which customers they want or so rich they don't need further sales.

You're far too wealthy to order from them :p

Never had any issues with them. I perfer a company who uses the extra layer of protection such as verified by Visa though.

Always unnerving when it just goes through, without asking for parts of a password.

So did you notify them of your issue, or just assume they're sitting in ivory towers, gloating over a list of card types?

They wouldn't be able to talk to your bank about your personal card anyway though.

Got some disinterested staff member saying "Its Christmas what do you expect"

and I mean the electronic communications over the visa network.

    Don't believe that happened.

The card etc. I believe, as I've had a payment issue with them in the past (not actually their fault).

But I've spoken to them on the phone, and through e-mail, and they've never been so laid back and disinterested. And the words "It's Christmas, what do you expect" I doubt left their lips.

You assume it's a huge company, financially it may be doing well, but it doesn't employ many people, considering their packaging system is well known for being mostly (or wholly) automated.

It really did happen, The manager was disinterest aswell. They also admitted the 5 minute dispatch at this time of year is a lie too "as we are too busy we cannot guarrentee 5 minute dispatch"

Well amazon got £49 out of me, I upgraded myself to prime. I bet they won't be too busy to dispatch a parcel to me.

I bet Amazon won't be as you are now paying extra to be a prime member as well. You do realise it's some sort of subscription service

Amazon are massive compared to someone like shopto.net it is completely ridiculous to even compare them.

Mind you I guess all the Amazon complaints around here, suggest that customer service is not always their main concern.

My Amazon account was closed ages ago, due to their appalling service.
