Is Sagepay secure?

I really need to buy a mattress for my DD and want to get a brand that I have had before, La Romantica. There aren't a lot of stockists around and unfortunately I already am waiting to try to get a refund through Paypal for one ordered which never turned up (I think the company has gone bust!!!).
I found it at BedKingdom, but their payment page uses Sagepay (which I had never come across before). Hopefully, all will be well, but if this company does the same as B*dlum Beds and takes my money and just doesn't give me the product, would I have any protection? I would be using a Visa debit card if that is relevant.
I really need a mattress ASAP so if anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

In a word - Yes
SagePay are one of the biggest online payment providers - that is they process payments from your card to the sellers banks. If the seller is using SagePay, it means they cannot see your card details, so you know they can't go shopping with your card details after you placed your order! And all your card details are transmitted, checked and validated securely, so yes you are safe.
Of couse they seller could not deliver, but you would be protected againt that via the usual chargebacks etc. A business must register via their business bank account to be able to use Sagepay, so it is unlikely they are setting out to run a scam.0 -
I would not be worried about SagePay as they are as safe as it goes....
What would worry me is... Just google map the address BedKingdom give on their website....Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Okay. I did that. What is the problem? When we ordered our bed a few yrs ago from B*dlum beds, we went to the address on their site and it was just a normal house in a residential area. These companies seem to be purely online, they order from the manufacturer, and deliver to the client.
We had no problem the last time, with the aforementioned company. Unfortunately this time they have scarpered with our money.
I really need to get this mattress soon, and unless I want to drive to Yorkshire where it is made, I have to order it online.
Bedkingdom sell a lot on ebay and they still have lots of positive feedback for this past month.
Thanks for the reassurance about Sagepay though. I just hadn't come across it, and when I did a forum search, there were people on this site saying that you had little protection.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Section 75 will probably not be applicable though.0

The Visa debit card chargeback scheme might offer something though.
Have a read of MSE's Debit Card Chargeback article.0 -

It was the fact its all housing.... No retail.
But if you have used them before.
I wonder if in the past they sourced from a local factory. Which shut down earlier this year.
If goods do not arrive and you paid by card then its a easy chargeback for non reciept.
TBH. If you need one soon, then go to a local retailer. Might cost a few ££ more. But our local one has a lot in stock for same day delivery if needed.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
I haven't used this particular company, but another one who worked in the same way.
I would go to a local bed retailer, but am wary of shelling out for a mattress only to find that after a year it is rubbish. I really wanted the same brand I got for our bed (La Romantica), which, after almost 3 years is still as comfy as the first week I got it.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Does not show that they have a shop. But might be worth a shot if you know which one you want.
At least they will be able to advise you of suppliers in your area.
Agree with you on the need of a quality mattress.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Thank you for that. I did try to ring them, but just got an automated message I think. Will ring them again on Monday.
I just want to be sure that I order from a company who are still in business.
It makes me soooooo angry that today, you can still go onto B*dlum Beds website, or even on eBay, and order and pay, yet they seem to be unable to fulfil orders. Actually (excuse me while I have a conversation with myself here) I think I will get on to ebay and see if they can do something about it. Surely there should be something they can do.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
