Acrobat 6.0 Professional - Opening PDF times

Options
Hi

I once knew how to have the above software open up PDF files in a much quicker manner than is the normal. It was an action that made the software open up in 'bare bones' fashion. I cannot remember how I did it, or why I reverted back. It really takes an age for me to open PDF files and I have started scanning and saving documents in this manner now. Has anyone got any clue to what I am reffering?

EDIT

I have found it.

Why on earth I chose to revert back to default is beyond me. This is a must have

There's a free program here (PDF Speedup) which does the above, as well as turn off some other things, for you:

Personally I would use FoxIt reader a freeware pdf reader .... seems nice and fast.

If you want even more speed and have the memory then I would have a search for prefetch settings. IE windows keeps adobe reader in memory and hence no longer has to reload it to open up pdfs later in your windows session. Defrag your drive as well should give you another fractional speed increase.

There's a folder in the Acrobat directory called plug_ins
    Probably - C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\plug_ins
Move everthing out of it except EWH32.api, print*.api, and Search*.api into a new folder [call it 'Optional'] & things should speed up somewhat.
