Finding old account numbers/details

Hi guys,

I have decided to try to reclaim charges from credit cards I had in the past. I have had few: Barclaycard from 2003 to 2005(defaulted but then settled), then again in 2010, Capital One going back to 2005, then Vanquis in 2010 till 2011(closed). But I do no have any statements/account details. I have checked my credit history file and they only show xxxxxxxxxxxxABCD, not full account number.

How do I find out account numbers from old & closed accounts?

Thanks.

    Read the MSE article.

It advises on how to get details of any charges on your Vanquis account and why to forget about the others that are over 6 years old ;)

If you don't have any details of the Vanquis account such as a statement, how do you know there are any credit card charges? But if you call Vanquis, I'm sure they will send you copies of any statements if they still have these details (they should do) - a charge per copy statement usually applies.

As for the stuff from 10 years ago - forget it. Read the MSE article if you want to know why.

Because I do remember I was charged for going over limit. How did you ended up with 10 years? Even 2003 isn`t 10 years.
