Mankind 'Special Offer'

Following the advert on MSE I recently ordered 2 items from Mankind, to qualify for their free Moulton Brown Xmas Pack. I received an acknowledgement showing all items as 'In Stcock. Usually despatched within 24 hours'. Two weeks later I sent an e-mail asking where my goods were. I was told there were problems in the warehouse bu all goods would be shipped soon. I then got a message saying the 2 items I had paid for had been shipped. The next day I gat an e-mail headed 'Order Update'. This informed me that the Free Gift had been cancelled because they were out of stock! They also informed me I would not be charged for the free gift!! Since the gift was the only reason I placed the order, is this offer not fraudulent?

You'll probably find there was some small print somewhere stating 'subject to availability' or 'whilst stock lasts' .... it's annoying though isn't it? In the interests of customer service they should have offered an alternative gift or emailed you to see if you still wanted to proceed with your order. I'm sure you'd be within your rights to request a postage paid returns label to return your order in these circumstances...I'd ring them and vent!

i would never order from mankind again! delivery took 3 weeks when was meant to be 2 days! and i had to chase and chase the order! their customer service is shocking and they really dont seem to care about their customers! if you want your goods before xmas stay away from these guys!

Mankind stuff are rarely on discount. You will always find it cheaper elsewhere.
You should return your items and get a refund. Don't shop at retailers this poor.
