Lupin in winter

Hi i got this lupin as a plug plant in April 2012 & it started to flower about september and im amazed that its still got a flower in december can someone tell me why its not died off with cod weather as a thought they wer summer plants. http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/ii479/mattytun/001-2.jpg

    Lots of things have gone crazy this year. I still had gazanias in flower until last night's frost and have masses of campanula flowers. I say just enjoy :)
