I want to buy a dvd blueray player for my son for Christmas as he is moving out into his new house just beforehand and has bought himself a tv that is 3D so want to get him that and a 3d film to start off his collection. He is techie savvy and would research the best one to buy for his pocket, I, on the other hand, have been trawling the reviews and they may as well be written in chinese for all that I can understand! Could anyone recommend one to me please, I don't really want to spend over £100 if I can help it. Thanks

I got myself a SONY 3D Blu-Ray Player last christmas. As always with Sony, never had an issue with it. Here is the updated version of my model http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007MOV1KA/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=home-theater
As it has built in wi-fi, it connects to your home network so allows you to use Lovefilm, Youtube, facebook etc. on the TV. As it is 3D, it also plays all 3D blu-rays. There are many like this available, this was just he one I bought as there wasn't as big a range when i was looking initially.0 -
You cant generally go wrong with Panasonic,Samsung or Sony for 3d blu ray and there are some good offers about at moment0

Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0

Can you not subtly ask him? Or even ask him directly?
If you buy him one you risk buying him the the wrong model or perhaps finding he has already bought one himself.0 -
Trets77 - we have a Richer Sounds near us and would save trying to stay in for delivery if we chose to order online - looking good - Thanks for all the coments so far :T0

The thing about buying from Richer Sounds is the great customer service and that they will exchange it without quibble should there be any problems. I always buy direct from the store as sometimes they have stock clearance deals the store staff will tell you about that are not online. I recently brought a £450 Monitor Audio Subwoofer for £150 cause they were shifting the last few to make room for the almost identical new model.
I am not a 3D fan but my non-3D Sony Blu ray from Richer Sounds is a great machine for the money.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
