My brother recently lost his daughter.
Very sudden. She was only 27 years old.
The funeral will be end of next week at a cost
of around £3,000.

She had no insurance, and the family has very little money.

Can any organisations help them?

  • If he is claiming benefits, he may be able to claim some money from the Social Fund. Check out the Government website, or just Google Social Fund Funeral Payments. It will not cover the whole cost of the funeral or pay for flowers etc, but he may be able to get a contribution to the cost of a basic funeral.

Did the daughter have a pension or death in service through work? some of those may provide some sort of payment.

Many undertakers do a low cost funeral (but don't advertise it too well)
