Keeping my head down at present..... Mr LW is on 24 Hour On Call all this week, and has been informed there's some urgent work for him to do; he's currently at his work laptop, huffing and sighing, and occasionally muttering "oh poo" under his breath.:( There's nowt I can do to help.:(
Next Sunday and Monday, and depending how the data centre move goes, possibly some days afterwards, he's on 12-hour shifts, 09:00 to 21:00 (pity the poor beggars doing the night shift, as it's 24 hour cover - his boss ensured he got put on the day shift cos he's my Carer). Anyways, I've just batch-cooked a load of Shepherd Spies so that he can take one to work each day and have a proper meal, as he won't get home til gone 22:00. They have a microwave at work; so at least I know he'll be eating decent food.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I thought I'd done all my Christmas shopping, but both myself and DH are an office Secret Santa, so we popped out this morning to get our Secret Santa presents. Quite pleased, buy one get one half price in M&S, plus I had a 15% off voucher from M&S premium club, so felt I'd saved some money.
Finally finished writing my Christmas cards, they'll go in the post on Monday. Also done two loads of ironing so progress has been made.
Tomorrow we are going to lunch at friends who live in Berkshire. It's a bit of a trek round the M25 and M3, but she's a really good cook and does everything from scratch, so we will be well fed!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hello everybody....just waiting for dinner to finish cooking (steak and mushrooms)will then eat with OH and take some to DD4 as she has done something to her leg and can't move ( 31 going on 10!) Hopefully she will recover if she rests to-day and to-morrow.
Sent my one and only card to-day to a friend who lives in Canada, even wrote her a letter.
SIL in US had an emergency quadruple heart by pass on Thursday, had to have stents fitted as well...am keeping my mouth shut but foresee a trip to see her after Christmas....don't want to spend the money but OH wouldn't travel alone and will want to see her as she is his favourite sister....
Very cold here and allegedly we are to have snow, hope not as I hate the stuff.
Hugs to all in need, stay safe and warm

Hello all, just de-lurking for a bit if you don't mind...
Moorhen - I took my ds to cross country this morning - I hope yours wasn't as muddy as ours was. It was in part of the country that was flooded just a few weeks ago. They had a few big puddles to run through. Lots of washing for me then!
Betheebee - I never knew Fountain Forestry did Xmas trees - we are about 10 miles from them. Currently we have an artificial tree but if we do move house soon, then I would like a proper tree.
I'll go back to just reading now.0 -
Welcome Dangers = Please carry on posting :T:T:T
I in bed, snuggled up with Lapperty and have just watched dad's Army - love it. I made a festive wreath this afternoon so pleased with myself. Occupation is good for the soul = just wish I could get motivated when I get home.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Molly - thank you for the welcome. I've started to read pretty much every day but I have to say I'm not very os - partly because we are trying to sell the house so I'm trying not to make too much of a mess etc. it's difficult as currently if we have a viewing, the Christmas presents are having to be hidden n the boot of my husbands car!
If you are reading Bitsy and you need help on the location of your new home, just give me a shout as I'm not too far from where your husband is working, but our town has channel views.0 -
meanmarie good wishes to your SIL,my brother Davy had the same op two and a half years ago and is fine, mind you he followed that by getting diagnosed with leukemia and went through a lot of treatment Chemo and R/T and is now happily in remission .He's just gone back home this week to France where he lives and says that the treatment he received there was absolutely fantastic. He is a tough little monkey as he is rewiring his friends house for him before Christmas,he is just one of those chaps who just cannot relax and do nothing Bless him.
I too have been busy today, all my presents are wrapped and labelled and I am feeling quite virtuous
only got the cards to write out and I'll do that tomorrow.Did some baking as well,so now I'm off to put my feet up and maybe treat myself to a small glass of vino to celebrate
Cheers chums

Hi Dangers
They do some lovely trees there, as you turn into the Fountain Forestry they are just on the right of the enterance. I also drive straight on down past the trees and collect greenary, lots of ivy and stuff, they don't mind as long as I ask.
Please don't read and run, stay and chat
Good luck with your washing.
TINA MALTESER, Sounds like your having fun.
