Pet insurance advice

Options
I have never bothered before as I pay the bills if they ever happen. But with our new puppy, I think we will do a monthly thing.

Anyone had good service from a particular company? I have seen some cheap quotes from some, but wonder if they will stump up the money if something happens.

You need to check the cover and excess fees.

You want to look for a "lifetime" cover with a high payout limit. So if the pet developes a condition it will be covered for it's whole life

Some policies have a £ limit per condition or per year.

Have a look here to see star ratings and you can also compare policy features.

Make sure that the excess fee that you choose is affordable for you and obviously the cheapest policy is not always the best.

My dog is insured with Argos Platinum. We had 1 claim about 18 months ago which was paid without any issues. It was a one off incident however so I don't know how they would deal with an ongoing condition and multiple claims.

People often recommend Petplan but I have found the premiums expensive for my circumstances.
