What do you all have with your cold meats

This year I really fancy trying something different to go with cold meats, turkey, ham etc. I have bought some beetroot as hubby loves this, but I don't like it. I did buy some pickled red cabbage the other day, I want to give this a try. Not sure about pickled onions, don't think I really like them, tried them once. Just wondered what everyone else has, anything nice that I could try? I am willing to buy something different to give it a go.

We just have what we always have... bubble and squeak from the leftover veg, (chips for the kids), pickles and chutneys.

We just keep it simple - home made chutney and chilli jam, fresh bread, oat cakes, picked onions, celery, grapes, sausage rolls, a bit of green salad, if we fancy more of a 'meal' then baked potatoes are nice with it. We also have pât! and smoked salmon available along with the cold turkey and cold ham. Yum I love these kinds of meals!

We always chop up an onion or two, add sugar and balsamic vinegar, leave it for at least an hour and it tastes lovely. We then add extra onions as necessary and when the "sauce" is almosed used up we mop it up with crunchy bread. Yum.

Cold red cabbage cooked the Delia way- it's yummy. Things like Quince cheese & Damson cheese (not a cheese at all), pickled walnuts, spiced pears, spiced peaches, lemon relish (or do I mean pickled lemons?!) Assorted salads not only lettuce variety but Waldorf, rice & peppers, pasta salads......oh dear, making me hungry now!

Oh and assorted rolls: soft, crunchy, wholemeal, multi grain, white- fancy shapes, different toppings

    Jacket potatoes! :D

Regarding pickles, you need to try I'd say at least 2-3 different types to say you don't like. Large pickles (like from a chippy) are a world apart from small, sweet silverskins.

Cheese, bread, other "party foods" and make it more of a buffet - sausage rolls, cheese rolls, bread sticks, small rolls/sandwiches, cherry tomatoes.
