How did you get on this morning, Monsieur Bob?

This seemed so important to you over the last 48 hours, I'm sure you would have acted by now ;)

There's absolutely no way that I can get any kind of revenge, apart from calling them &^$"£$ every opportunity I get.

Yes there is - as above take them to the Ombudsman. They charge suppliers a fee (said to be £350 on here previously) to look at your case. ;)

It costs you nothing and if you have a genuine credit balance and are no longer a customer they can hardly refuse to tell Npower to refund it.

Npower are obliged to follow the Ombudsmans resolution whether they like it or not. You have a choice not to accept it.

To be fair in spite of your doubts the Npower reps above statement is perfectly correct - any company should be requiring some form of authorisation from your Mum before discussing her account with you (speaking to her & then passing the phone to you would do). A letter is however traceable, provable & ongoing (unless it says otherwise) whilst phone calls are often not in case of later query / dispute, poor noting of the authorisation etc.

Its the law surrounding dpa, unless the op has power of the court order. If not she wont even be allowed to raise a complaint with any company
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
