Decided it's time to get another drive now that prices are coming down a bit.
I've got a couple of WD Elements Desktop Hard Drives which I've had no problems with so I'm planning on getting another WD model.
The 3TB Elements is £94.99 from ebuyer
Or there's the 3TB My Book Essentials for £99.99 from Amazon
The Essentials drive has USB 3.0 but I'm not planning on getting a new computer any time soon so that's no benefit to me.
Any other WD users with any views on which, if either, is the better of the two.

often it is cheaper to buy a usb caddy and put your own drive in it.
Another benefit isd that many bought drives offer 2 to 3 years warranty, while a ready assembled one usually only one year.
Some bought drive like WD natively have a usb only interface, and you can not reuse then as a sata drive on a pc or laptop0
