I’m Too Sexy 2007 – UK release April 30th 2007 on Tug Records

The two brothers Fairbrass (Fred and Richard), universally known as Right Said Fred, are set to return to the British charts with the release of a newly recorded version of the pop classic ‘I’m Too Sexy’ and a brand new album. Originally released in 1991, ‘I’m Too Sexy’ sold over 6 million copies worldwide, was number 1 in 30 countries (including for 3 weeks in America making Right Said Fred the first British act to accomplish that feat with a debut single since the Beatles) and was number 2 in Britain for 6 weeks. Their debut album ‘Up’ sold 7 million copies worldwide.


And now Daz have followed Kodak, Mondeo and Toyota by using ‘I’m Too Sexy’ in their TV advertising campaign. Running from January until June 2007 the commercial features the Freds singing ‘I’m Too Sexy - For My Whites’ in an episode of the ongoing Cleaner Close soap opera.
Richard: “It’s good to be back! ‘I’m Too Sexy’ is a very resilient track but no-one has done a proper remix of it. So, with it being used in the Daz Advert, it made perfect sense for us to re-record a version. This is an exciting time for us, we are writing some of the best stuff that we’ve done since our first album ‘Up’ and it is great to be back with our original label Tug.”
