Readers Digest Christmas Cake Recipe

Good evening everyone
I have a very old copy of the Readers Digest "The Cookery Year", circa early 1970's, which I've used every year to make my Christmas puddings and cake. However, this year, the pages have stuck together, and when I've separated them, I've lost half of the list of ingredients for the cake.
Can anybody help please - I've used a different recipe, but it doesn't look, or smell, as rich as the RD one.
Thankyou in advance - my husband and son in law will be very grateful !!

I love my book! Bought a decade ago in a charity shop."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0

what size tin is this for please? I would be OK making the cake from the listed ingredients without a recipe so I might try to scale down the quantities as it looks like its for a big tin.0

Many thanks for your reply DianneB - I was so hoping someone would be able to help. Cake will be made today ( yes I know I'm a bit late ) and ingredients list stored for next year - assuming the Mayan prophecy for 21/12/12 doesn't come true!!
Catwoman - you will not regret making this cake - just the best ever - it's for a 10 inch tin, and cooked at 300F or gas mark 2 for 1.5 hours then reduce to 250F, gas mark 1/2 for a further 3 to 3.5 hours ( sorry, don't have the Celsius conversion to hand ). When cooked and cooled, every so often make holes in the bottom of the cake with a skewer, and lace with brandy before icing.
Happy Christmas !!0
