How to get internet to Tablet without broadband?

  • Hi O.P
I too am at a loss to why you would want to buy a tablet for your reluctant parents, I mean no offense but you don't seem know how these tablet pc's work, most of their appeal is quick and easy access to the internet (via wireless BB) as said above 3g is expensive and slow. Should you still want to go down this route I would advise getting a Cheap BB package with a wireless router, once set up and running tablet use is relatively easy.
Try looking at Plusnet they are very good and do a cheap package at about £6.25 month for 10 GB.

I was going to also suggest Plusnet-but the problem is that the OP's parent's have VM cable service, so no ADSL broadband options-it'sVM or nowt.

    1. Plusnet low user broadband - £6.90/n on top of BT phone line, with cashback opportunities.
    2. If they are really computer-averse, consider installing 'Doro Experience' software on the tab. It creates an extremely simple user interface, while set-ups can all be done via a remote computer by the 'techie' relative.

But the OP's parents don't have a BT line...so ADSL broadband is not an option for them.
Plusnet's £6.49 price does not apply on Market 1 exchanges.

Tv + phone from Virgin surely don't cost much less than a package that includes broadband. But some folks hate change. The reason I stay with Virgin media is only the broadband - their phone calls are expensive!
